March Montessori School Programs

Our Casa program

Casa is Italian for house. Our goal is to create a homelike environment rich in learning opportunities for your child. Students are encouraged to make choices about their learning and are guided through a systematic Montessori program which introduces students to new concepts as they are ready. A balanced Montessori program helps develop the whole child: speaking to the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of children.

Casa is a three year program with the first year focusing on practical life experiences and getting acquainted with their environment. Students are provided opportunities to learn, explore and practice their new skills. Gradually they come to the sensitive periods for reading and writing and math skills. It is quite common for Montessori children to be reading by the age of five and counting and manipulating numbers over 1,000. Students achieve these results not by being pressured but by given the materials and guidance to aid their learning and by having adults model appropriate behaviour for them.

Our goal is to provide the right learning environment to help your child become a capable, confident young student who leaves March Montessori with a lifelong love of learning. As a childcare centre located in Kanata (Ottawa), we take pride in offering this quality educational component.
